The extinguisher argon (Ar) –
is very reliable in extinguishing metal
and electronic fires
The extinguishing effectiveness of the chemically neutral inert-gas argon (Ar) is carried out mainly by the reduction of the oxygen component in the air in order to cut off the fuel for the fire. Since the inert-gas argon and carbon dioxide are heavier than the surrounding air. The gas can invade the area to be flooded very quickly and therefore, offers thorough protection of the endangered area. Argon is not toxic.
G&S Argon-Extinguishing Plants are specially
effective against fires of metal, as well as, electric
and electronic installations:
- electronic control rooms and control panels
- electronic data prossessing rooms and installations
- industrial plants
- foundries
- false flooring (wiring between two floors)
Advantages of the Argon-Extinguishing Plants:
- non-residue
- better tolerance by humans than CO2, non poisonous
- chemically neutral
- non-conductive
- conforms to international safety regulations
- conforms to regulations by
professional trade associations
- recommended by the german trade association
for nutrition
- 40% heavier than air, therefore, ideal for protection
in the case of false flooring
Argon is obtained from the surrounding air. It is a component of air with a volume of 0.93 % of the atmosphere. Its density in relation to air is 1.38 : 1. The extinguishing agent argon is gaseous compressed and stored in high-pressure steel cylinders.
G&S Argon Extinguishing Plants
The G&S Argon-Fire Extinguishing Plants are activated by electronic triggering via most modern sensors and control systems, but may also be started manually. In the case of installations for the protection of people, the triggering will be only after a short time of alarm, to allow for quick evacuation of the area. Any existing ventilation or air-conditioning will be switched off automatically and doors will be closed, in order to avoid the entrance of oxygen and the escape of the extinguishing gas.
