Nitrogen (N2) is ideal
for protection of persons

The extinguishing effect of nitrogen is based on the smothering effect: the oxygen in the air is displaced and, therefore, no more available as fuel for the fire. The gas can penetrate the space to be flooded very quickly and offers total protection in this way. Nitrogen is not poisonous. It comprises 78% in the air we breathe. Amongst all the inert gases, nitrogen can be best tolerated by human beings.

G&S Nitrogen-Extinguishing Plants are best suited as fire extinguishers in rooms highly frequented by people:

Advantages of Nitrogen Fire Extinguishing Plants:

Nitrogen is a colourless, tasteless and odourless gas forming about 78.1vol. % of the atmosphere. Its density in relation to the air is 0.967 : 1. The extinguishing agent nitrogen is stored gaseous compressed, in high-pressure steel cylinders.

G&S Nitrogen Extinguishing Plants

The G&S Nitrogen-Fire Extinguishing Plants are activated by electronic triggering via most modern sensors and control systems, but may also be started manually. In the case of installations for the protection of people, the triggering off will be only after a short time of alarm, to allow for evacuation. Any existing ventilation or air-conditioning will be switched off automatically and doors be closed, in order to avoid the entrance of oxygen and the escape of the extinguishing gas.
